Don’t back down for naysayers

I have realised, over the years, that we keep fighting (daily) until the last breath. Although, the fighting I am referring to does not have to do with being a brawler: rather, it is about the spiritual and emotional fights that we do.

Man operates within two forces, which are: spiritual and physical forces, but the spiritual controls the physical, yet, many seem to be living in this world without a guide.

The holy scriptures puts it rightly by saying, These things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. For who knows a person’s thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual.

“The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.” 1 Corinthians 2:10-14, ESV.

It, therefore, means that for anyone to scale through the hurdles of life – he/she must be a spiritual person in order to take charge of the physical world (around).

The perspectives of these forces

Remember that I said, above, that man operates within spiritual and physical forces: for those who are God’s children – the physical (more than the spiritual) forces always set themselves against them, but for those who are not God’s children – they have the barrage of spiritual and physical forces set against them.

The physical forces, deal with our emotions. They could be people, situations, difficulties and/or challenges, but anyone that will be successful in life must learn not to, ever, back down for the naysayers.

The physical forces might be called what Benson Idahosa referred to as zero hours.

Zero hours come upon everyone at one time or another – usually with the suddenness of Job’s misfortunes. What are “zero hours”? Zero hours are those bleak times, the lean seasons, the occasions in life when things come to a dead end. Suddenly there is no light at the end of the tunnel, and everything seems upside down. In the agony and deep desperation of such times, some can only shout in hopelessness, “I am ruined; I am finished!”[1]

What you are going through might be that some individuals take pleasure in deriding you: I know that could cause emotional strains, but you must not neglect the pursuit of your purpose because of that.

Many times, people might see what you are and what you will become (in the future), and as a result set themselves against you while you are still trying to figure things out.

Do not be fooled! Do not abandon the course of your life because some people, also, do not understand your concept (I meant, your person), because if you let that get to you – you may be forced to change your person, dispositions and order of life – all to please people: that will not help you in any way.

I am telling you this because I have experienced a lot of them, but then, the easy way for you to overcome these physical and spiritual forces is GOD.

God will give you peace when these forces are bringing doubts into your life, Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. You heard me say to you, ‘I am going away, and I will come to you.’ If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. And now I have told you before it takes place, so that when it does take place you may believe”. John 14:27-29, ESV.

Do not, ever, back down. Rather, stay strong – remain resolute to become whom God had destined you to be (by walking with God through the journey of life).
