Unarguably, every man or woman is a person with emotions. While some have a wild one, some others’ are moderate and yet, some others’ are so low (marred by past experiences).
In whatever scenario, as much as you desire to be someone tangible in life – you do not need anyone to give you permission on how to pursue your dream, set your goals, associate with people (that will spur your creativity, tenacity, integrity and so on).
However, at this juncture, we need to clarify the difference between ‘instruction’ and ‘permission’.
You attended the crossover night in December 2016 and your Pastor gave you series of instructions on how to handle the year 2017. You should note that those instructions were God-motivated, because your Pastor is a representative of God – placed over you. So, God uses the Pastor to direct your thoughts (aright) in the year 2017 by those instructions.
On the other hand, permission is what you request if you needed to take something that does not belong to you. It is defined as the ‘approval to do something’. Imagine a man seeking permission (from his Pastor) to woo a lady or a situation in which that same man seeks permission to sleep with the woman after marriage? It could be said that such man never takes control of his life.
No one should give you permission to do the rightful for yourself
Aside from bureaucracy (any organisation in which action is obstructed by insistence on unnecessary procedures and red tape) in offices, you need no permission from anyone to take charge of your life.
This is because when God created man, He put all authority into his hand and that domination (over all creatures) does not include fellow humans.
“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth”. Gen 1:26-28, KJV.
Aside from your office procedure, when you cannot do a thing (for yourself) without permission from another man; you have just placed your life under the dominion of that person. Your life is to be governed by yourself – under the dictates of God.
Here is the only permission you need
Does God give permission to men in anything? The answer is absolutely yes.
If you wanted your life to take shape in accordance with God’s plans – you must learn to take His permission, always. God is not a man; He is a spirit – the Creator of all things in heaven, on earth and under the earth ( Colossian 1:16).
He knows what you want, He knows your challenges and He can solve any form of problems – you just got to start fellowshipping with Him.
In Finding Your Purpose written by Billy Joe Daugherty, the three main questions that most people ask about their life are:
1. Where did I come from?
2. Why am I here?
3. Where am I going?
He continued by saying that, as believers in Jesus Christ, the answers to all three questions are found in God.
The question you must now be asking is how to start taking permissions from God.
According to Rev. Tolu Isaac Boluwatise, you start to learn God’s-will the moment you start to observe and live by the instructions in the word of God. From that point, he said, “God will start to expand His will to you”.
Taking permission from God also has to do with being able to hear from God, and the same principle you apply to hear from God is to start to live by the instructions in God’s word too.
Therefore, you must be born again. Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, and God will start to commune with you.
It is that simple: just recognise the fact that you cannot save yourself, and then, surrender (totally to God) so that the Holy Spirit can take control.
For those that want to be born again
Say the following prayer:
Lord Jesus thank you for this opportunity to give myself, my life and my future to you. I confess you as my Lord and Saviour: let the Holy Spirit guide me into all truths, in Jesus name, amen.
Henceforth, you are encouraged to start to read the word of God (Holy Bible). You can request for a Bible Reading plan from us; we will be glad to send it to you.
You need to be prayerful too, and the Holy Spirit will set fire in your hearth – to be able to work with Him.
Lastly, kindly join a church where the truth of God’s word is proclaimed. Do you need guidance on this too? Please, let us know and we will help you out.
