Why looking back is always staying down

What is it that you have abandoned in the past but is now fascinating to you? Such fascination can, only, draw you back and make you stay down.

Hence, you must have an inkling to, always, forge ahead in life.

Although, it is true that we cannot, totally, trash the pastIt should, however, not be treated as something better than tomorrow: that is why the past is always an history with which we project into the future – through today (the present).

Your pasts, no matter its sweetness, should not be better than the present or tomorrow

What are you ruminating upon? Your thoughts have creative power: if you cannot, thoughtfully, create the future that you desire – the past will, always, haunt you and you will live (the present) in delusion which will never allow you to lay hold of the future.

In other words, when departing from the past – it must be of a concerted effort to (never) allow it affect your life’s journey – negatively.

The  reason that  many  people struggle to live joyfully in  their  present (and are devoid of projections into the  future) is because there has not been a  truthful recourse into the  future, from the  past.

To this, Kenneth Hagin Jr. said:

“The Gospel is a world-wide emancipation proclamation of liberty from service and bondage to the old tyrant master of sin and sickness – the devil. But because many of us have put our liberty and freedom off into the future – not into the past tense – it never has become a reality for us”.[1]

Embrace the future now

If you desired changes in your lifeit is time you started embracing the future because the past got nothing good to offer you again.

Your past could be some kind of lost opportunitiesbroken relationship(s), massive losssinful friends or habit(s) – you got to let them go and embrace the future that God has for you.

In John 1 the Bible describes the presence of Jesus Christ in this world. In verses 4 & 5 it says, “In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of men. And the Light shines on in the darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it [put it out or absorbed it or appropriated it, and is unreceptive to it]”, AMP.

The same light that Christ has is what everyone (who may accept Him as Lord and Saviour) has: by repenting of unbelief, confessing and accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour that light is given to a person, after which a transformation takes place – according to 1 Corinthians 5:17“Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!”

With this knowledge, the best thing you could do for yourself is to embrace the future and stop staying down in the past.

As said (above) the past does not have anything to offer you (again), but the present, as much as, the future – got many goodies in the bag for you: go for the future, embrace the present.
