There is, hardly, anyone that does not like and eat one edible thing, constantly: even, during sickness, those who understand the need to gain strength will look for something (light) to eat in order to respond to treatment faster.
However, what we eat to stay healthy might also be the causes of sickness in many people, especially, when consumption of certain food becomes higher and other necessary consumables become deficient in the body: since I am not a medical expert, I will talk less about scientific composition of consumables and the implications, but I will focus on the need to watch what one eats.
Our mouths crave sweet things the most
Again, there is hardly, anyone in this world, who will desire bitter things over sweet things: yet, many of the sweet things that we consume are like antecedents of sicknesses in our bodies.
We prefer to eat sweetened products and, later, treat ourselves of complications, even though we know that such is not the best – for a healthy living.
Don Colbert and Jon Gauger revealed some things about food:
… make it clear from the outset that as more research is done on food and the human body, we will find that some foods may be healthier than we thought (like coffee and dark chocolate). And other foods we once considered healthy (such as margarine) are in fact very harmful to our health… There will always be confusion regarding foods and their health benefits… One principle will always stand: living foods (such as fruits, veggies, and whole grains) will always be healthier for you than processed foods.
Of course, the healthy foods mentioned in the paragraph above are sweet but the type of the sweet I am referring to, here, include foods like: sugar, fast food, fats among others.
You now need to control your appetite
The problem with many people is not the fact that they have active appetite for food, but their problem is gluttony – many people cannot just control themselves from tasting certain food that passes before them until they could taste from it.
Unfortunately, the food that entice people the most are the sweet ones, which colber and Gauger referred to as dead food.
At the same time, the bible helps us to understand that God does not encourage gluttony. “Listen, my son, and be wise, and keep your heart on the right path. Do not join those who drink too much wine or gorge themselves on meat, for drunkards and gluttons become poor, and drowsiness clothes them in rags.” Proverbs 23:19-21, NIV.
Going by the pieces of information above, we can, therefore, assert that gluttony is capable of causing health complications and poverty for anyone who lacks control over eating anything that crosses his/her paths.
Notwithstanding, staying healthy is not a big deal. Even, if one would eat sweet things as he/she pleases, it is best to seek medical advice on how much is too much.
